This 7-day private tour is ideal if you are flying into Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and main international gateway. Rather than heading straight to Marrakech, the route takes in Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital, before continuing south to the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca — City Tour
On arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and its main economic and commercial hub, you will visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and a genuine feat of modern engineering — its minaret rises over 200 meters, making it one of the tallest religious structures anywhere, and a section of the prayer hall floor opens to reveal the Atlantic Ocean below.
Depending on your arrival time, you may also have a chance to walk along the corniche, Casablanca’s seafront promenade lined with cafés and restaurants, or explore the smaller, less touristy old medina near the port before settling in for the night.

Day 2: Casablanca to Marrakech — via Rabat
This morning, drive to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant and relatively quiet capital, for a guided visit including the Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified 12th-century old town overlooking the point where the Bou Regreg River meets the Atlantic, with narrow blue-and-white streets reminiscent of Chefchaouen. You will also see the Hassan Tower, an unfinished 12th-century minaret intended to be the tallest in the world, and the adjacent Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
From Rabat, continue south to Marrakech, arriving in the evening with time to settle into your riad or hotel before dinner.

Day 3: Marrakech — Guided City Tour
Spend the day exploring Marrakech with a local guide. Highlights typically include the Bahia Palace, celebrated for its ornate courtyards and painted ceilings; the Koutoubia Mosque, whose 12th-century minaret has served as an architectural model across the region; and the lively souks of the medina, where you can shop for spices, leather goods, and traditional crafts across dozens of specialized market lanes.
In the evening, experience Jemaa el-Fnaa as it comes alive with food stalls, musicians, and storytellers — one of the most iconic public squares in Africa.

Day 4: Marrakech to Dades Valley — via the Atlas Mountains & Ait Ben Haddou
Head south into the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, stopping at viewpoints and in small Berber villages along the way. Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified UNESCO World Heritage kasbah built almost entirely from rammed earth, its dramatic silhouette having featured in numerous international film productions.
Continuing through Ouarzazate and the Skoura oasis, you will arrive in the Dades Valley by late afternoon, where dramatic rock formations rise above terraced fields along the river.

Day 5: Dades Valley to Merzouga — via the Todra Gorges
Visit the Todra Gorges, a dramatic limestone canyon with cliffs rising over 300 meters, popular with rock climbers from around the world, before continuing east toward Merzouga as the landscape shifts from green valley to desert plain.
In the late afternoon, ride by camel into the dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets, arriving at your desert camp for mint tea, a traditional dinner, and an evening of Berber music around the fire beneath a sky full of stars.

Day 6: Merzouga to Marrakech
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes before beginning the return journey to Marrakech, retracing the route through the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and the High Atlas Mountains — a chance to see landscapes you passed quickly on the way out in different light, and to stop again at any viewpoint you would like a second look at.

Day 7: Departure from Marrakech
After breakfast, your private tour comes to an end. You will be transferred to Marrakech airport for your departing flight, or we can help arrange an extension to the coast or the Atlas Mountains if you would like to continue your trip.
